Posted June 24, 2018 10:06:23A survey of thousands of women found that they would not consider wearing nikes at work if the company’s logo was not on them.
The findings come as Nike has been criticized for wearing its logo on its trainers, which are branded with a picture of a woman.
It has been reported that many of its trainers are now on sale in the US and overseas, although it has been banned in Australia.
Nike Australia’s head of marketing, Sarah Broughton, said the company had made a decision to remove the nike logo from its products.
“We’re changing the way we work, the way our employees are working, the whole way we do things,” she said.
“The idea is that the Nike logo is a symbol of what we’re about and that’s why we feel it’s appropriate to remove it from our product.”
A spokesman for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said the commission would not be commenting on individual cases.
The ACCC said it would be reviewing the issue.
