“The best part of playing for the club is knowing the other greats.
The greats are all there.
It is the experience that you get playing with them that makes the most difference.
You can’t play for any other team if you are not in that group.
You don’t know them, they don’t see you.
They are the guys you go out with, they are the people you go to for support, and that is what I hope to get out of this experience.”
The Australian Rugby Union has revealed that the “Pajamas Sets” match will take place on Thursday evening (AEST).
The Pajamas sets match, a charity match featuring former NRL stars who will match up against former Wallabies, will be a charity fixture in 2016 and beyond.
“We are pleased to welcome a great group of former NRL players to the Aussie Rugby Union and we are confident this match will go a long way in supporting this great cause,” said Aussie Sport CEO Matt McManus.
“This match will not only provide a unique and fun opportunity for the players but will also be an opportunity for our players to meet their idols in person and help raise funds for Pajama Sets.”
To all the former players who have already agreed to participate in the match, we are also very grateful for their support and hope to see them back in the game next season.
“The Aussie Rules team of former Wallaby Jason Nightingale, Josh Molloy and David Wigglesworth will also take part in the charity match.
Auckland-born former Wallaroo Scott Barrett will be taking part in both of the matches.”
I can’t wait to get into the Pajamases with the other guys and we will get to see what this game means to us,” Barrett said.”
The fact that they are all up for it, I can’t believe it.
