United States international midfielder Christian Pulisic has been named the winner of the Man UtD’s prestigious Women’s Champions League match on Saturday.
The 20-year-old, who was named the tournament’s player of the match on Tuesday, was part of the United States squad that won the group stage last year, but is now hoping to secure a place in next year’s tournament in England.
Pulisic played a key role in the U-20s success last season, playing in all eight matches and scoring four goals in the process.
She helped the U.S. to a top-four finish in Group F and is now poised to earn a place on the team for the World Cup in 2019.
Pulsi was named a finalist for the tournament this season, but only earned one of the six berths.
The first team did not receive an allocation for the third place match on Sunday, meaning the UCL’s second-ranked team has only earned the berth for the first round.
A U.N. Women’s Player of the Tournament finalist, Pulisics has also been part of several U.M. U-19s and U-23s squads and earned a spot in the squad for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
She also featured in a U.K. Under-20 side that finished runner-up in the European Championship and was among the U20s who qualified for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, where they were knocked out in the quarterfinals.
Polarisic’s selection for the 2017 FIFA Women’s Under-19 World Cup came as a surprise after the U23s won the competition earlier this year.
She is also the first player in U.A.
L history to score in three consecutive games against Liverpool and Arsenal.
She scored her first international goal in an away match against Sweden in March.
A also defeated Spain 3-0 on the road at Wembley Stadium in the final.
Pulse has scored four goals for the U21s this season.
