AUSTralian Rugby League has announced a match between the Waratahs and the North Queensland Cowboys for the 9th round of the 2019 Aussie Rules Rugby League competition.
The match will take place at the MCG in Melbourne on March 7.
It is the third time the Warats and the Cowboys have met in the competition and both teams have played each other in the last three rounds.
The Cowboys will be without their leading playmaker, James Tamou, who is set to miss the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.
Meanwhile, the Waras are hopeful of retaining their number one selection, Michael Barlow, who missed out on selection to the A-League squad due to injury.
Rugby league’s top three sides:The Waratah, who are unbeaten in the first six rounds of the competition, have a good chance of making the final with a win in Melbourne.
They have a strong starting 13 and have had two players named in the side in recent weeks.
The Warats are led by young prop Josh McCrone and are in a good position to finish with a perfect record in the series, after a hard-fought game in Brisbane.
Rabbitohs, who will be hoping to secure a fourth straight win in the round, have not beaten the Waratis since the 2013-14 season and will be looking to bounce back from a hard test at home to Western Sydney.
Bulldogs, who have been one of the best teams in the league this season, are looking to build on their impressive start to the season, having lost two of their opening four games.
Bulldog’s captain, Daniel Vidot, is likely to be a late withdrawal, as he is still recovering from a hamstring injury.
Newcastle, who won just one of their first four games, have been playing well at the moment, but it will be a hard fight for them to keep the lead against a strong Waratas side.
The final two games of the round will be contested at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
